Why Setting Intentions Are Important


Before you continue reading this post, try to keep one thing in mind...Setting goals is not enough. Setting intentions each day are most important. Having daily intentions can make a complete difference in your life. How can these daily intentions make a difference? Keep reading to learn how.


When we set goals, they help us to see the future, help us to understand what we want in/out of our lives, have a plan, and stay focused so we can achieve these goals. When you set intentions you focus on who you are in each moment. You begin to recognize, understand, and live your values. This in turn raises your emotional energy and helps you to be more motivated to be the person you are achieving to become.

Goals at times have a way of removing us from the moment and placing our minds on the things we are trying to achieve but do not have yet. And if we never reach these goals we often focus on our failures and not the purpose of the goal. This can be very devastating to people who believe they are failures in life.

Intentions can be used as a road maps that give us daily reminders on how we can live each day. Having daily intentions gives each day a purpose, the inspiration, and motivation to achieve that purpose. Once you get into the practice of setting daily intentions you can see the changes in your life.


Now that you have a clear distinction between goals and intentions, here is a road map to help you on your journey.


Your intentions have no limits - Once you start setting daily intentions, you will notice changes within your mind and body. You mind will see the purpose of your intentions and begin to make adjustments to help you along the way. These new changes not only help you but can help others around you as well. Positivity attracts positivity.


Your intentions are expansive - Intentions are who you want to be, want to give to others, the footprints you want to leave on the world, and how you will go about putting those intentions into action. As you begin to set daily intentions you will understand how different they are from goals.


"Purpose fuels passion".

Your intentions are effective - When you have daily intentions you are aware of what you do and how you do it. Your intentions give you power, opening your mind and heart to thinking that whatever you do will only be desirable.


Your intentions help to remove negative self-talk - Goals have limits. Intentions are endless. Daily intentions help you to focus on the things that will positively impact your life. Every day you can tell yourself the thing(s) you want to do instead of wishing you were already doing those things. Saying "I intend to" instead of "I want to" gives you power to actually make the change.


Your intentions open your eyes - Have you ever gone through your day not truly focused on what you are doing, things around you, or the beauty in the world? With intentions you begin to see the little things in your life you would have otherwise missed and shift your perspective. It can be truly eye opening.


"Good things are about to happen".

Before you begin setting daily intentions you must have a clear vision of what it is you wish to achieve. Take the time to think about what you want to achieve daily and how you want to go about achieving it. Write it down each morning. Writing your daily intentions increases your energy and helps you to become focused to carry them out.
